Personal Tax Return Preparation

We prepare your personal T1 return with care, making sure every slip, deduction, and credit is captured — and that you pay no more tax than the law requires.

The overview
Your T1, prepared right — and every credit you're owed, claimed.

Personal tax returns get more complicated every year — especially if you're self-employed, own rental property, have investment income, or carry forward losses. We prepare your T1 general return, claim every deduction and credit you're entitled to, and file electronically with the CRA so you get any refund as quickly as possible.

Beyond preparation, we look at your situation year-round: RRSP timing, capital gains planning, and the interplay between your personal and business income if you own a company. The goal isn't just a filed return — it's the right long-term tax position.

Questions

Common questions

The standard filing deadline for personal T1 returns is April 30. If you or your spouse are self-employed, the filing deadline extends to June 15 — but any tax owing is still due April 30. We'll track your deadline and make sure you're filed on time.

Yes. We handle CRA correspondence, review requests, and adjustments to previously filed returns. If you receive a letter from the CRA, forward it to us before responding.

That's one of our most common combinations. Clean bookkeeping makes your T1 faster, more accurate, and often less expensive — and we can coordinate your personal and corporate tax planning together.
